My Taurus Career Experiment Day
So my coffee mug finally cooled down yesterday morning when I pulled up that “Taurus Career Horoscope 2024 Best Jobs to Try This Year” thing online. Honestly? Usually just scroll past that astro stuff. But hey, feeling kinda stuck in my current gig, thought why the hell not. Maybe the stars have a better idea than my boring job board searches.
First step was pure chaos. Got my notebook – the dog-eared one with coffee stains – and a pen. Started scribbling whatever jobs that horoscope mentioned for Taurus folks like me. Felt ridiculous sitting there at the kitchen table linking stars to salaries. Listed ’em anyway:
- Something cozy & crafty like Interior Design consultant
- Finishing stuff people start – Project Manager role maybe?
- Anything luxury or comfort-related they said? Spa management popped in my head
- Also kept seeing “grounded skills” so looked into horticulture or landscaping biz
Next part got messy. Dusted off ye olde LinkedIn profile (man, those “skills” needed updating bad). Actually applied to 3 things that felt halfway possible:
- A local firm needing project coordinators – their building models looked satisfyingly complete
- A fancy garden center hiring supervisors – talked about “creating serene spaces”
- Pitched myself to a friend-of-a-friend doing custom furniture – stretched the “craft” angle hard
Reality punched back fast. The project coordinator place actually replied! Got a quick Zoom call… and yeah. Turns out their idea of “finishing projects” was chasing overdue invoices from clients stuck on VX modules or whatever. Salary was barely more than babysitting money.
The garden center? Ghosted. Furniture guy? Nice chat, zero budget.
Then today happened. Remembered that “luxury” bit while waiting in a forever line at the post office. Saw some local high-end spa was offering free “career insight workshops” – probably just recruiting spa therapists honestly. Went anyway. Kinda zen place. Talked to the manager about operational stuff, handling clients needing pure comfort. Somehow vibed? They mentioned needing someone super reliable to manage bookings and vendors – stressed NOT flaking out under pressure. My kinda Taurus stubbornness maybe?
Got a trial shift! Part-time initially, rubbish base pay BUT… weirdly discounts on massages are legit. Husband already calling me his “stress-reduction investment.” Jury’s still out on the stars though. Maybe it just nudged my slow bull brain towards something solid I’d ignored? Who knows.
Would I do it again? Probably not the ritual part. But hey, got me unstuck.
