Woke up today scratching my head about this DSG vs PC Dream11 contest thing. Last time I got absolutely murdered in points – picked a vice-captain who got benched, total disaster. Okay, coffee first. Needed to get this right today.
Starting Point: The Headache Begins
Opened the app, saw the contest locked in 3 hours. Panic mode! First thing? Checked who the big guns are. Everyone’s talking about Pheko for DSG, right? Pulled up his last scores… garbage. 7 points, then 12? Couldn’t trust him after last time.
Switched tabs to see the expert chatter. Found one guy raving about Leus du Plooy for PC. Said he smashes spin. Looked at the pitch report – dry as a bone. Spinners paradise. Hmm. Maybe worth a look? But his scores lately weren’t wow either. Kept scrolling.
Digging Deeper & Getting Frustrated
Needed current form. Scrolled the recent matches tab like a madman. Found this guy Jason Smith for DSG. Last two games: bam, 45 points, then 32. Who even is this guy? Nobody mentioned him! Typical. So under the radar. Had to check if he was playing tonight for sure. Team news buried deep. Finally saw him listed. Okay, locked in my head.
For PC, spotted Van Buuren. Played every match, steady 20-30 points. Nothing flashy, but reliable? Better than some big name flunking. Wicketkeepers are always a mess. Tried to see who’s actually behind the stumps tonight. Took forever, the info is scattered like confetti. Settled for Fletcher. Just hoping he doesn’t get a duck.
The “Genius” Squad Assembly
Finally started plugging players in:
- DSG Bowlers: Got a guy named Payne everyone loves, plus Smith (the one I found!).
- PC Batsmen: Took the punt on du Plooy against spin, paired with Van Buuren for safety.
- All-rounders: Washed my hands of Pheko. Went with Overton. Had a half-decent over last week.
- Captain/Vice-Captain: Smith (the hidden pick) got my VC spot. Captaincy pressure thrown onto Payne. Fingers crossed!
Allocating the last few slots felt like picking lottery numbers. Just hoped they wouldn’t get zero.
Moment of “Truth” & Second Guessing
Hit submit. Then spent 10 minutes staring at the team. Instant regret. Why du Plooy? That one random post? And no Pheko at all? Suddenly remembered my last failure with him on the bench… felt cold sweat. But credits gone. Team locked. Too late to chicken out now.
Now? Just waiting for the match to start. Crossing my fingers Jason Smith doesn’t forget how to play cricket and Payne doesn’t bowl trash. Might win big, might crash and burn spectacularly. Only god knows what my points will look like after tonight’s mess.
